Post-Ride Beers
PNW Ride Network - Mar 8, 2026
Something really special is taking shape just outside Eugene.
At Suzanne Arlie Park, the City of Eugene is building a brand-new mountain bike trail system right on the edge of town. For local riders, families, and anyone who loves getting outside, it’s a huge opportunity to create something we’ve never quite had here before: a true progression-style bike park just minutes from home.
And the best part? It’s already underway.
But there’s one last funding push needed from the community to help finish it.

The Big Picture
Suzanne Arlie Park is a 565-acre landscape of prairie, oak savanna, and forest tucked just south of Eugene. The City is already investing about $4 million into building the foundation of a mountain bike park here, including:
- a central trailhead
- a skills area
- and seven new mountain bike trails
That’s a huge step forward for Eugene’s riding scene. But the full vision is even bigger.
When the park is complete, the trail network will include 11 trails and three trail hubs, designed so riders can progress from beginner to advanced all within the same system.

Imagine:
- learning to ride with your kids
- working on new skills in the bike park
- linking up after work for a few laps
- or spending a weekend sessioning your favorite trail with a new community
All without drive out of town to participate and experience.
Why the Last Trails Matter
Right now, four advanced trails and three trail hubs are still unfunded.
Those final pieces are what turn a trail system into a true destination bike park.
They’ll add:
Progression for every rider
Green to blue to black trails all in one place, so riders can build skills over time.
Session-style riding
Advanced lines, flow sections, and features designed for repeat laps with friends.
Trail hubs for the community
Three spots in the network where riders can regroup, rest, and plan the next run.
When everything comes together, Suzanne Arlie has the potential to put Eugene on the map alongside places like Bend, Oakridge, and Hood River as a place riders across the Willamette Valley come to ride.

Finish the Ride
To help make that happen, the Eugene Parks Foundation launched the Finish the Ride campaign, which aims to raise $600,000 to fund those final four trails and three hubs.
The City is already building the core of the park. This campaign is about helping finish the job so the entire bike park can open as the fully realized vision.
Construction at Suzanne Arlie is already underway and will continue through 2026. If funding comes together soon, the remaining trails can be built alongside the rest of the project.
In other words: this is the moment where community support really matters.
A Chance to Build Something Great for Eugene
For years, Eugene’s mountain bike community has been advocating for better access to local trails. Volunteers have built, maintained, and supported riding areas all over the region.
Suzanne Arlie is a chance to create something lasting:
a place where new riders learn, kids build confidence, and experienced riders keep coming back for more laps.
How You Can Help
If you’re excited about what this could become, consider supporting the project.
Donations of any size help move the park closer to completion and will help make sure Eugene ends up with the kind of trail system riders will be enjoying for years.

Share it with your riding crew. Tell your favorite bike shop. Send it to a friend who loves trails.
The sooner we reach the goal, the sooner we all get to ride it.
